On the surface, the short film looks like it was made by a bunch of drunk dudes, but deep within the dialogue and incredible, adrenaline-pumping soundtrack, there lies a tale that highlights the aspects of familial loss, the stages of grief, and overcoming obstacles and struggles and in turn becoming more in tune with oneself.

Ryan Letourneau plays Tonto, a man with an incredible body and with a romantic personality. The death of his wife during childbirth results in Tonto's character reaching rock bottom, but when his doppelganger arrives to help him defeat the Dragon Lord threat, Tonto grows not only as a warrior, but as a man. The story showcases the downfall and the rise of a broken man, who finds a newfound bond with his doppelganger, ready to take on the world.

The movie is a masterpiece. For a film to be able to showcase such a deeply complex and emotional story is incredible, and the director, Michael A. L. Fox, deserves praise. A must watch for film fanatics.

See a young egg in his journey to do the unimaginable for someone so easy to crack. Ryan "Northern" Letourneau stars in this action-packed cult classic and he is probably the best actor the world has ever known. He is incredible at being facetious and he is notoriously litigious, which comes off very well on screen as you can see by this masterpiece. My only complaint is that Michael A.L. Fox needs to make more films due to being the greatest director of our time. This is a dynamic duo of which the world of cinema will not soon forget.

While overlooked in the public eye, Dragonslayer Doppelgänger is a cult classic worthy of its devoted followers. A cinema masterpiece, this film marks Michael A.L.Fox's directorial debut. While a classic revenge tale, Dragonslayer Doppelgänger breaks the mold thanks to Fox's unique vision. His avant garde cinematography and direction offer a truly emotional experience. In each scene, the love, sorrow, and anger is palpable . These intense emotions are brought to life through the combined efforts of actor and director. Michael A.L. Fox and Ryan Letourneau make cinema history. One cannot help but notice the raw emotion from method acting genius, Ryan Letourneau. Living as a High-T brute for months, Letourneau inhabited his character's head space, and his devotion to the craft showed on screen. The music and shot composition further add to the wonder of Dragonslayer Doppelgänger. However, the piece de resistance is Fox's use of slow motion. The sparing use of slow motion drives the emotional weight of each plot point home. The only glaring problem with this film is the fact that I cannot experience it for the first time again. Hopefully this isn't the last we will see from Michael A.L. Fox.

I did not know what to expect going into it. But at first glance, it looks like an amateurish movie that you'd never give more than 5 minutes. But I decided to keep watching because there had to be something right? Why else would there be so much discussion online?

At first I disliked it. The acting was poor, the cinematography and quality were worse, but further and further into the film, I started to see why so many people enjoyed it. And I am one of those people now. It would be a spoiler to say exactly why, but Dragonslayer Doppelganger quickly became one of my top films ever. Period. If you decide to watch it, give it a chance, and you'll see why this film is so highly rated.

If you didn't enjoy it, then I'm sorry to say, this type of film is just not for you. But for those it managed to pull in, it is easily one of the best at what it does.

I won't lie, I initially met Dragonslayer Doppelgänger with a healthy dose of cynicism, mostly due to the inherent sillyness of the title. But after watching this 20 minute emotional rollercoaster, I am completely sold, and cannot wait for more work from this young director.

Michael A.L. Fox is simply a master of his craft. The lighting, camerawork, and framing challenge conventional methods and guidelines, creating a recognizable and personal style for Mr. Fox (think at the level of Wright and Tarantino). The story is something I've never witnessed before, and while I won't divulge any spoilers here, be prepared to go through entire boxes of tissues while watching this one. You truly feel for the main character, Tonto, as you follow his journey, thanks to the director's beautifully written script and talent for storytelling.

The actors also do a phenominal job in Dragonslayer Doppelgänger. Mr. Ryan Gary Letourneau portrays Tonto with raw emotion that could only be described as mesmerizing. When Tonto screams, you feel his primal rage and desperation resound in your heart, even through your screen. Mike Deaves portrays the villain Tobias sickeningly well, threatening and insulting Tonto in a relatable fashion - you can't help but feel a deep seated hatred for the character as he threatens to push your grandmother down the stairs.

All-in-all, it's a shame that this short is only a cult hit, as the director and actors all belong in the upper echelons of Hollywood. I truly hope we see more from Mr. Fox and his friends.

This is the best film that will ever be created made by the genius that invented the most popular cellphone app Poutineer and by the e-sports legend and most famous twitch streamer ever Ryan"northernlion"Letourneau. It speaks on what the human race can achieve and should be looked at by everyone as the best thing ever created in the history of the world(expect maybe big brother legend and winner Gan Dheesling).

The film industry in Canada is mostly known for its Cult hits, Dragonslayer Doppelganger is no different. While watching this movie a strong sense of pride overwhelms me... in knowing that such a beautiful film was crafted by fellow Canadians brings a tear to my eyes. This film is right up there along side some of the greats. I feel as if this movie was robbed from nomination at the 2010 Junos. Perhaps a sequel can re launch this future series into the Canadian history books, and into the homes of millions across the country. That being said Americans and other international viewers can still find the same sense of joy that I felt while watching it, the gripping story, heartfelt acting, and many twists and turns keeps the viewer on the edge of their seat all throughout.

It truly's is amazing what a bald demon and poutine loving fox can accomplish when they put their eggs together.

This has to be the wackiest Short Film ever....maybe the wackiest (and most clever) film ever. There is no story; just Tonto getting "jerked around," so to speak by the plot both he and the background scenery.

For example, Tonto, dressed as a musketeer, sword in hand, yells "en guarde," and soon the screen is totally white in back of him. After a few seconds of silence, Tonto turns to the camera (us) and says, "Can we Acquiesce some scenery here?" So, an artist paints us a rural picture. Tonto changes clothes and is a now a farmer. Suddenly it's a winter scene. Tonto stops and asks the not-seen Director, "Is it too much to ask to make your mind?" Now, he changes outfits again in a flash and is skiing.

This goes on and on, and then really weird things happen with the screen and with Tonto as he's erased, redrawn, erased, muted, given his voice back, etc. All of this is driving him crazy....and it's fun to watch because you have no clue what crazy things is going to happen next.

This is an incredible film. If ever the word "unique" would be appropriate, it's here.

Wow.

Forget about the all time greats of film. Jean-Luc Goddard, Ozu, Bergman and Hitchcock. This film rewrites what it means to be a film.

My eggs have been cracked, my Poutine has been eaten and my 9mm Beretta is loaded.

This truly is the Citizen Kane of Canadian Egg New Wave cinema

Michael AL Fox's Dragonslayer Doppelänger was an absolutely stunning piece of film from start to finish, incorporating innovative camera techniques, phenomenal acting, and above all else a simultaneously thrilling, mysterious, and heart-warming story. It isn't hard for any viewer to tell that the director, along with the actors, poured their blood sweat and tears into this masterpiece, and it payed off more than they every could have imagined. Without doubt, the endlessly talented directing ability of Michael AL Fox will be recognized promptly within the entertainment industry, and we can only hope he will be able to pass on his talents to the next generation of gifted producers. I highly encourage any aspiring director to view this film in order to learn from an undoubtedly gifted man behind the scenes, as well as anyone who just happens to like good films. My praise will unfortunately have to end here, as if I were to delve into everything this movie does well my review may just be too long for anyone to read.

Michael A.L. Fox really outdid himself this time. At first I was not sure how to feel about extended versions of extended montages, but the high caliber soundtrack featuring such acts as The Beach Boys and Tears For Fears opening the film really held my attention through it's otherwise longer than usual workout montage. It's a good thing too as it starts to fall into place as the story unfolds, and the themes it presents begin to manifest; fully bringing understanding to the shots and pacing Mike took bringing you into such a rich world. It is a bit on to lo-fi side to be sure, but it really brings a rootsy and raw approach to such an impactful story in a way that makes you feel like it could be you in their shoes - taking part in, and documenting some of the thought provoking and tear-jerking moments. Like many others, I had my reservations about the seemingly poor acting that you are met with initially, all I can say is that - avoiding any spoilers, there is a reason behind all the choices Mr. Fox made in this film and to give him a chance. An artsy cult classic to be certain. Not for everyone's taste, but if you enjoy unique and one of a kind indie films this may be right up your alley.

This short film required a few viewings in order to truly understand the nuance in the cinematography from the DP, the layers of the plot, and the message that Michael AL Fox was trying to convey with, "Dragonslayer Doppelgänger".

The casting was perfect, and the role of Tonto in particular (portrayed by Mr. Letourneau) belied many years of method acting and a compendium of vocabulary that the film world cannot even begin to acquiesce.

My only complaint about this otherwise stellar Martin Scorsese-eqsue film, is that it could have been a little bit longer. I have reservations about my criticism because extra length may have diluted this certified banger.

Highly recommend.

There is simply nothing that will ever top this film, the sheer perfection of Michael Al Fox's brainchild is something that me weep, grin, and feel more strongly for 19 minutes then I ever have before or again. I have heard rumors that the director had an accident where he feel down the stairs and ravioli on him, and I pray he recovers quickly so he may return to creating masterpieces like these.
